I’m a child of the eighties. So naturally I had the big hair and the arsenal of hair care products to go with it: curling irons, hair setters, hair spray, and lots and lots of perms!

That’s Joe and me when we were dating in 1990. Believe it or not, I had already started taming my big hair.

I don’t perm my hair anymore but I do highlight it and use a flat iron and blow dryer. It can still see a lot of damage so I try to deep condition it frequently. There are some awesome products on the market to use that don’t break the bank. Two that I use are:

Arvazallia Hydrating Argan Oil Hair Mask and Deep Conditioner for Dry and Damaged Hair, 8.45 oz

Arvanzallia Hydrating Argan Oil Mask  for $12.30.

More recently I’ve started using this:

L'Oréal Paris Hair Expert Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm, 8.5 oz. (Packaging May Vary)

Loreal Total Repair 5. This has worked wonders and it’s only $5.95!

But there are also ways to deep condition without spending much and using ingredients that you already have in your home.

To Moisturize Hair

Puree one banana, ¼ cup honey and ½ cup plain yogurt. Spread on your hair and leave

on for 20-30 minutes.

To Soften Hair

Mix together 5 Tbsp. olive oil with 2 eggs. Spread on hair and cover with plastic wrap. Leave on for 30 minutes.

To Brighten Hair

Puree one cup strawberries and 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise. Spread on hair and rinse after 15 minutes.

To Nourish Hair

Smash an avocado with a fork and mix with 1 tsp. honey and 2 tsp. olive oil. Spread on hair and leave on no more than 30 minutes

So what are you waiting for? Pick one and give your tresses a little TLC!
